Hong Kong is one of the most popular destinations in Asia not currently served by a direct route from Sweden. Some 160 Swedish companies have operations in the Hong Kong region, and the airport there is one of the largest for air cargo.
“This is wonderful news and a fantastic addition for passengers in both directions. More intercontinental routes further improve our position as a hub for travel in Scandinavia. Last year we added seven new routes from Stockholm Arlanda to destinations beyond Europe as well as another two this year. It is really great that Swedish access will be enhanced even more next year,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, airport director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
SAS will launch its Stockholm Arlanda–Hong Kong route in September 2015 and fly five times a week.
