2014-05-07, kl. 10:49

The number of passengers flying via Stockholm Arlanda Airport continues to rise. Some 1,890,000 passengers flew to or from Stockholm Arlanda in April 2014, which is a 12 per cent increase compared to the same month in 2013.

International travel continues to grow sharply; a full 14 per cent more international passengers flew compared to April last year, while domestic travel was up a more modest 3 per cent. The destination with the greatest increase in passenger volume was New York (+29 per cent), followed by Zurich (+24 per cent). The largest destination by passenger volume was Copenhagen, with London coming a close second.

The number of landings at Stockholm Arlanda in April also increased, up 1 per cent compared with the same month in 2012.

“The demand for fast, safe transport between Sweden and the rest of the world continues to grow. In many cases, flights are fully booked, and the large passenger base will hopefully soon allow us to offer even more departures and destinations,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, airport director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
