First non-stop flight to San Francisco

2014-05-04, kl. 11:05

On Saturday, the first non-stop flight took off from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Oakland (San Francisco), California. This is the very first time Sweden has direct service to San Francisco.

Each year, 60,000 passengers fly to California from Stockholm, and until now they have had to transfer somewhere in Europe or the US, but thanks to Norwegian Air Shuttle’s new non-stop service, travellers can reach the American west coast much faster, more easily and in a more environmentally sustainable way.

“It feels great to be able to tick off two new non-stop routes to California in such a short time, with Los Angeles launched March 2 and now San Francisco. With today’s launch, Stockholm Arlanda Airport secures its position as the fastest growing airport in the Nordic countries,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, airport director at Stockholm Arlanda.

Norwegian flies twice weekly between Stockholm Arlanda and San Francisco, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
