The inaugural flight was flown by a Boeing 777-200LR, the same type of aircraft that will serve the Stockholm-Dubai route daily.
The aircraft has a unique layout for Emirates, with eight private suites in first class, 42 flat-bed seats in business class and 216 comfortable seats in economy class. On board the aircraft, more than 1,500 channels with information and entertainment are on offer, so passengers can see the latest blockbusters, watch recent TV shows and listen to all kinds of music from around the world.
“It is really wonderful to inaugurate here today at Stockholm Arlanda, together with the prestigious airline Emirates, the new Stockholm Arlanda-Dubai route with daily service on a Boeing 777. More intercontinental non-stop routes strengthen our position as a transport hub in Scandinavia. With almost 20 million passengers each year, Stockholm Arlanda is a gateway to Stockholm and Sweden,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, airport director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
The daily flight, EK157, departs from Dubai at 7.15 a.m. and lands at Stockholm Arlanda at 12 noon. Flight EK158 departs from Stockholm Arlanda at 1.55 p.m. and arrives at Dubai at 10.55 p.m.
