Another Dreamliner at Stockholm Arlanda

2013-06-11, kl. 15:00

Beginning August 1, Qatar Airways will fly the route Stockholm Arlanda–Doha every day with a Dreamliner 787. Norwegian and Thomson Airways previously announced they would launch service with this aircraft model, which has generated a lot of talk.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is considered to be the next generation of aircraft and is much quieter and more energy-efficient than today’s aircraft.

“Developing non-stop routes is at least as important as attracting new non-stop routes. So we are really proud and pleased that we have succeeded in encouraging another carrier to expand its operations at our airport,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, airport director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

Qatar Airways flies to over 100 destinations and in 2011 was chosen Airline of the Year by the aviation research association Skytrax. Doha, which is the hub for the carrier’s operations, also offers passengers an attractive platform for flights to destinations elsewhere in Asia, Africa and Australia.
