Sharp increase in air passenger volume

The sharp growth in air passengers continues. The number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports increased a full nine per cent in July compared to the same period in 2014. International traffic was up ten per cent. A total of almost 3.4 million passengers flew to or from one of the Group’s ten airports. That is an increase of more than 275,000 passengers.

During the month of July, almost 3.4 million people flew to or from one of Swedavia’s airports. Total passenger volume was thus up nine per cent compared to July last year. Measured in passenger numbers, that increase was more than 275,000. The number of international passengers was just over 2.5 million, which is an increase of as much as ten per cent compared to the same month last year. Domestic traffic was up five per cent to 831,000 passengers.

So far in 2015, passenger volume at Swedavia’s airports has increased five per cent to almost 21.4 million.

International travel to and from Sweden continues to show very good growth. International traffic increased seven per cent during the first seven months of the year. The number of landings in scheduled and charter operations was more than 15,000 in July, which means a three per cent increase compared to last year.
