A total of 1,225,000 people flew domestically in April 2016, which is a 7 per cent increase compared to April last year. International passenger volume was up 2 per cent in April this year compared to the same month last year, with 1,964,000 people flying internationally.
The total number of people flying to or from Swedavia’s airports in April 2016 was thus 3,189,000, with an overall increase of 4 per cent compared to April last year.
So far this year, 11,745,000 passengers have flown via one of the Group’s ten airports. That is 6 per cent more than for the same period in 2015.
At the three largest airports – Stockholm Arlanda, Göteborg Landvetter and Bromma Stockholm – domestic traffic also accounted for the biggest increase in April’s statistics, with domestic passenger volume up 7, 5 and 8 per cent, respectively.
Malmö (10%), Ronneby (14%), Visby (11%) and Åre Östersund (20%) also saw large increases in domestic passenger volume during the period.
The total number of landings in scheduled and charter operations at Swedavia’s airports in April was 18,700, which is a 5 per cent increase compared to the same month last year.
Key figures for April 2016:
- Domestic passenger volume increased 7%, while international passenger volume was up 2%.
- Domestic traffic also grew at the Group’s three largest airports – Stockholm Arlanda 7%, Göteborg Landvetter 5%, and Bromma Stockholm 8%.
- Åre Östersund and Ronneby were the airports with the greatest increase in April in percentage terms, with traffic up 18% and 10%, respectively.
