The number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports surpassed 3 million in October, which corresponds to an increase of seven per cent. The number of international passengers was up seven per cent, and the number of domestic passengers was up five per cent. So far this year, that is equivalent to an increase of four per cent, or almost one million passengers.

During October, almost 3.1 million passengers flew to or from one of Swedavia’s ten airports, a rise of seven per cent compared to the same period in 2012. The number of domestic passengers increased five per cent to 1.2 million, while the number of international passengers increased seven per cent to 1.9 million.

“The increase in the number of passengers at our airports is almost twice as large as the European average. The offering of destinations outside Europe has also been expanded, and a growing number of people are flying to long-haul destinations,” says Torborg Chetkovich, chief executive of Swedavia.

In October, the number of landings in scheduled and charter operations at Swedavia’s airports was 19,500, which is four per cent more than during the same month in 2012.

So far in 2013 (January–October), over 28 million passengers have flown to or from one of Swedavia’s airports, an increase of four per cent compared to the same period in 2012.
