July a record month for Swedavia

In July, the number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports increased 6 per cent, with passenger volume at a record high. 

Both domestic and international traffic saw increased volume. So far this year, 22.5 million passengers have flown to or from one of Swedavia’s ten airports.

A total of 3,593,000 passengers flew to or from Swedavia’s airports in July, which is a 6 per cent increase compared to July last year and the highest level ever recorded for a single month.

Some 2,706,000 passengers flew internationally in July, which was also a 6 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

July statistics for domestic traffic show a 7 per cent increase compared to July 2015. A total of 887,000 passengers flew domestically to or from Swedavia’s airports during the month.

Passenger volume during the first seven months of the year totalled 22,508,000, which corresponds to a 5 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

The number of landings at Swedavia’s airports in July this year was 15,800, a 5 per cent increase over July last year.

New passenger records were set in July at Swedavia’s two biggest airports. A total of 2,354,000 passengers flew to or from Stockholm Arlanda Airport in July, the highest level ever for the month of July and a 7 per cent increase compared to the same month last year.

At Göteborg Landvetter Airport, 620,000 passengers flew in July, which is the highest figure for a single month ever in the airport’s history. Passenger volume was up 5 per cent compared to July last year.

Visby Airport, which had a 20 per cent increase in traffic for the month compared to July 2015, also set a record, with 77,000 passengers.
