Continued increase in passengers at Swedavia’s airports

The number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports continues to rise. In June 2012, the total number of passengers increased by three per cent compared to the same period in 2011. The growth is mainly in European destinations, with an increase of six per cent.

The total number of passengers for the first six months of 2012 increased by five per cent to 16.1 million. Passengers in international traffic increased by six per cent to 9.6 million, while the domestic passengers increased by five per cent to 6.5 million.

During June, three million passengers travelled to and from one of Swedavia’s eleven airports. That corresponds to an increase of three per cent compared to the same period in 2011.

International traffic was up five per cent to two million passengers, while domestic traffic showed no growth, with one million passengers. In international traffic, the number of passengers in Europe increased most, with growth of six per cent compared to the same period in 2011, at 1.8 million.

The number of landings in scheduled and charter operations at Swedavia’s airports in June was 16,600, a decrease of five per cent compared to the same period in 2011.
