Continued growth in air travel

The strong growth in air travel continues. The number of passengers at Swedavia’s airports increased four per cent in June compared to the same period in 2014. International travel was up six per cent. In all, more than 3.5 million passengers flew to or from one of the Group’s ten airports in June, an increase of 126,000 passengers.

During June, more than 3.5 million people flew to or from one of Swedavia’s airports. Total passenger volume was thus up four per cent compared to June last year. Measured in the number of passengers, that is an increase of 126,000. There were more than 2.4 million international passengers, which is a six per cent increase compared to the same month last year.

So far in 2015, passenger volume at Swedavia’s airports is up four per cent to just over 18 million. International travel to and from Sweden continues to show very good growth. International traffic increased six per cent during the first half of the year. The number of landings in scheduled and charter operations was 18,400 in June, which is a three per cent increase compared to last year.
