Lyon, France’s second largest city, is located in the Rhône-Alpes region and is a leading industrial centre, where many Swedish companies, such as ABB, Alfa Laval, Ericsson, Ikea, Sandvik and Mercuri Urval, have operations. The largest employer in the region is Renault Trucks, which is part of the Volvo Group.
“The new route represents a major business opportunity, especially because of the high demand from business travellers between Gothenburg and the Rhône Alps region in France. Passengers can save at least four hours on a round-trip flight with Régional and Air France,” says Noud Duyzings, Regional Manager for Air France KLM in Sweden, Finland and the Baltic countries.
The route will be served by an Embraer 145 with seating for 50, and the flying time will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Non-stop service between Göteborg Landvetter Airport and Lyon was provided up until May of this year by Skyways, which has filed for bankruptcy.
