After strong growth in recent years, today Dubai is the fourth largest destination in Asia for Swedes. Some 31,000 passengers now fly between Stockholm Arlanda and Dubai, which means the destination has grown 11 per cent compared to last year. Emirates’ new route entails an even larger offering of direct flights from Stockholm to Dubai. With just one stop, passengers also have access to Emirates’ network of routes in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
“We are very pleased that Emirates is now launching service between Stockholm and Dubai. International non-stop routes contribute significantly to increased access to and from Sweden, which is important for the region’s competitiveness and growth. It also means Swedish travellers now have more options for smooth travel to popular destinations in Asia,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, airport director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Emirates is one of the world’s fastest growing airlines. Its fleet consists of 200 aircraft, and the carrier serves over 120 destinations in more than 70 countries around the globe. The aircraft type on the route between Stockholm and Dubai will be a Boeing 777-300.
